The Challenge

IMPI Enduro is established as one of South Africa’s premier hard enduro motorcycle racing properties, hosting both an annual flagship race and exclusive special edition events. While the core IMPI brand has strong recognition within the motorsport community, the challenge was to create distinct excitement for each individual event. The organizers required a scalable visual identity system that could maintain the parent brand's integrity while giving each race its own unique "personality" and narrative. Furthermore, this visual language needed to be robust enough to translate effectively across a vast array of physical applications—from digital marketing assets to complex screen-printing on apparel and laser-etching on finishing medals—without losing detail or impact.

The Solution

To address this, I developed a modular branding strategy centered around bespoke event-specific identities. For each iteration of the race, I designed a custom logomark and accompanying typography that anchored a unique annual theme and tagline, creating a fresh narrative for returning participants. This thematic visual language was then systematically rolled out across a comprehensive suite of event collateral and merchandise. I oversaw the technical application of these designs onto diverse substrates, ensuring print-readiness for high-quality production. This included designing vector graphics for screen-printed casual apparel (t-shirts, hoodies), formatting layouts for sublimation on technical riding kits, and creating precision files for hard goods such as commemorative medals, enamel mugs, and flasks. The result was a cohesive, collectible brand ecosystem that elevated the racer’s experience from a mere competition to a lifestyle event.
